Dr. David Turer is a double-board certified and aesthetic fellowship-trained plastic surgeon in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Turer stands at the forefront of aesthetic and cosmetic surgery, blending his extensive medical training with a deep dedication to patient care.

Dr. Turer’s medical career began at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where his outstanding academic performance led to his induction into the highly regarded Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Turer then honed his surgical skills during a rigorous general surgery residency at the top-rated University of Michigan, followed by a plastic surgery residency at the number one rated University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Turer completed his training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas by completing a fellowship in aesthetic plastic surgery, a program well known for its rigorous standards and emphasis on cutting-edge techniques.

An aesthetic fellowship is an advanced, highly specialized training program that focuses on the latest methods and innovations in aesthetic surgery. This fellowship provided Dr. Turer with in-depth experience in procedures such as facelifts, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation and lifts, body contouring, and other non-surgical cosmetic enhancements, ensuring that he became one of the best trained aesthetic surgeons in the country.

Dr. Turer’s clinical expertise is enhanced by his background in engineering. He received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue University and a master of science in biomedical engineering from the University of Michigan. Dr. Turer was inducted into Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, reserved for the top students of each engineering class. His ability to combine the precision of engineering with the artistry of aesthetic surgery sets him apart as a surgeon who delivers exceptional, natural-looking results.

Dr. Turer is a respected leader in the plastic surgery community, serving on the board of directors for the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation (ASERF) and various committees for the Aesthetic Society. Dr. Turer is also the lead investigator for a large multicenter prospective study on breast implant safety, reflecting his commitment to ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Dr. Turer regularly speaks at national meetings on various topics in aesthetic surgery and has published numerous articles in the top plastic surgery journals. In addition, Dr. Turer has received patents for devices used to improve patient safety, including innovations developed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
