While the results of breast augmentation with fat transfer are long-lasting, they may not be immediately obvious. Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation Recovery and Aftercare
After the procedure, you can expect some swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the donor area and the breasts. You will receive pain medication to manage discomfort, and you may need to wear a compression garment to help reduce swelling. Compression garments will minimize swelling and support the breasts while they recuperate. Over the next few weeks, donor area and breast pain, edema, and bruising should reduce. You will receive pain medication and may need to avoid some medications or supplements that increase the bleeding risk. Most Pittsburgh fat transfer breast augmentation patients can return to work and daily activities within a week, but strenuous activities and exercise should be avoided for four to six weeks. After surgery, be sure to follow all post-procedure instructions, such as keeping the area clean and dry, not smoking or drinking, and attending all of your follow-up appointments.
